What the job is like day to day
The job can be either really intense or very slack, you have no one watching over you, but you are still judged on how well you perform by what you actually daily output. You need to think about a strict start time and that should help you to govern your day. Take breaks, the screen is not your friend.
Write a to do list complete it and then write another. Finish what you started and don't leave it for another day. Speak to someone, anyone, as you need interaction of some sort. Remote work cuts out the commute but not the compute, so remember use that time wisely and fill that time don't waste it. Truly unwind when finished, don't go back to it as this then takes up your own time and you will never get that back.
It is all about the Work - Life balance once you have it you wont want to lose it, the lockdown proved many things but it does need the focus to confirm that you don't need to go to the office to complete the tasks expected of you. If you got it, use it or expect to lose it.
Remember no two days will be the same if you ensure that you follow your list. Just complete the day tasks and you should be good to go.
Stay connected with your team
One word of warning is keep contacting your colleagues, they may want a progress report, a problem answered or shared. They too keep the wheels moving but you have to remember that you are a cog in the works and each one makes it work.
If you can have a kettle and a bottle of water handy, you will drink more, especially as you will talk more on the phone.

Set up your workspace properly
Establish your work place, is it on a table in the kitchen or in a summer house in the garden, you will need some peace and quiet at times especially when on the phone, have no disruptions or cause for alarm. Ensure the WiFi has a good connection and that it is operating normally, the last thing you need is to reboot it during your working day.
Protect your wellbeing and enjoy the freedom
Lastly, enjoy it, the freedom is so good but as mentioned before don't let it get lonely. Solitude can be a pain at times, always remember your mental health is precious and never let the job drag you down that you start wondering what else you can do.
Be yourself. Always expect the unexpected and be ready for the mishaps that go on along the way just as they would if you were working from an office. Share everything and don't keep secrets. You will be fine - go for it. It worked for me and I don't have any regrets.
Stay relaxed, have some music playing softly in the background, your office is not quiet so why should you be thinking you are in a morgue when working from home.
